Dr. Frederick A. ross was a contempory of the Rogan family at
Old Kingsport, Tenn.  He was wealth and wened the finest farm land
there.  His home is still standing on the bank of the Holston river,
at one time he was in partnership business of some sort with
Griffith Rogan.  Afteerward he became a famous precher in the
Eastern Tennessee section.
_Old_ Kingsport, situated on a bluff at the junction of North and
South branches of the Holston river, still contains many of the buildings
of 100 years ago-or more.  the new city of Kiingsport is a modern updated
city, built up by finer homes, churches and factories, Some three
miles north of old kingsport.
Many Rogan descendats are now living in Kingsport and nearby twons.
